1. Can i get a backstory on the band/ band biography?
1 - Well I can say the band is pretty young. Celestial Oblivion is a solo project by me (Guilherme Lima). I composed all the songs and played all the instruments. I also have another band called Holy Week Ends, but I wanted to make my own noise, you know, doing things my way! So in the last year I decided to record an EP with a new atmosphere and all the filth and density I wanted. I also have plans to play live with this band, so I shall recruit some guys for this. However I shall remain the only member from Celestial Oblivion, my music it’s very personal, and adding other members on the composing and recording processes could deform this vision.
————————————-
2. What lyrical theme do you guys use in your music? What message do you want to send?
2 – All the lyrics themes deal with the obscure and forgotten. I try to wake people up for a different world right in front of our eyes. There’s so much interesting culture ignored by people because they’re too busy with the futile life of modern society, and that’s totally the opposite way of life I try to live. Nature has so much to teach us, we just have to stop and listen.
————————————-
3. How have the gigs you guys been doing been?
3 – As told before, I haven’t played any gigs because I’m just one guy. But I want to play a few shows along this year, let’s see what happens.
————————————-
4. What equipment do you guys use?
4 – For the recordings I used a Jackson guitar, a Warwick bass and a standard dynamic microphone for the vocals. Everything was recorded in my home studio, with simple equipment, and everything was mixed and mastered by me also.
————————————-
5. What bands have influenced your band and its sound?
5 – I can say the music of Celestial Oblivion has a lot of different influences, but the mostly are from what people call of Black Metal music. Burzum, Celtic Frost, SarcófagoDarkthrone, Mayhem, Vomit, Beherit, Dissection, AgallochAnaal Nathrakh, Enslaved and Wolves In The Throne Room for example. But I also listen to A LOT of Death Metal music and there’s a good influence of contemporary classic composers, like Dmitri Shostakovich,Krzysztof Penderecki and György Ligeti.
————————————-
6. Do you remember your first show and what was it like?
6 – Sadly no…
————————————-
7. What made you guys decide to form a band?
7 – The wish to make music my way.
————————————-
8. What is your opinion on sites posting your guys material and other bands material?
8 – That’s great, I guess all art is made for the people, so it must be shared for everyone. Of course people must learn to keep the art alive, incentivize what gives you pleasure.
————————————-
9. Is there any bands that you guys enjoyed playing with more then the others?
9 – Can’t really answer to that, but I can name a few bands I would love to play with: The Black Coffins, Reiketsu, Infamous Glory,OmfalosMiastheniaVociferatusLamúria Abissal.
————————————-
10. How do you guys feel about the classifications in metal? like deathcoremetalcore and other subgenres and how some get a negative rep.
10 – I don’t care much about that, I think it’s ok to people to classify bands in styles, but it doesn’t influence me when I’m composing my music.
————————————-
11. What song do you enjoy playing the most?
11 – All the songs! Hahaha, I can’t just chose one, all of them are in my heart, and choosing only one I would be disparaging the others. Also every song has it’s own atmosphere, so it fits in different moments.
————————————-
12. When not doing things with the band, what can you guys be seen doing?
12 – Well I’m always listening to music, composing or simply thinking about it. Work sadly takes a lot of my time also… I work on a events company, as an operator of sound. I wish I could spend all of my time on my music, but it is impossible till now…
————————————-
13. Your biggest band moment?
13 – Till now, releasing the EP by Depressive Illusions Records, it was really a pleasure!
————————————-
14. What is your opinion on the current state of metal?
14 – I don’t know… People talk a lot about “the state of metal” but I think it really doesn’t matter. There will be always a lot of great artists, you just have to search more deeply for them.
————————————-
15. How did you guys come up with your band name?
15 – The name has a lot of meanings, but mainly, two principal that can be recognized immediately. I wanted a name that talks about the rise of nature in it’s pure form, a name that exalts the things we
left behind.
————————————-
16. What can the fans expect to see from you in the future?
16 – A full length album for sure will be coming soon, I have a lot to talk about that but I rather to keep it in the dark for now. I also plan to make a video for one of the EP songs, and this shall be done till the end of this year.

Cosmic Descent: A Prologue For Human Plague

Cursed by the hands of father

Cast against carnal desires

Imprisoned in the inferior world

As a wretched dog

I damn your reign that I shall burn

Infernal flames shall rise the sky

But this land of vitality shall welcome me

Not retribution, nothing in return

By the fruits of this land

As I become the god of unity

Man shall owe me eternal gratefulness

Evil has born in me

And with me will grow infinitely

A never stopping machine

In anger and agony I will feed

I’ll cultivate it with all my strength

Evil has born in me

And with me will grow infinitely

Hell shall support me

Corrupted

Consumed

Honor your words and lock this world

Because when the night falls

All grace will be shattered

Because when the night falls

I’ll no longer be able

To control

Without hope, without anything in front

I hoped you would come

But the evil seed had been planted

I will live in eternal agony

Flames of infernal past

Eternal Infernal
